Refund and Cancellation Policy
How to cancel, what happens to your plan and your records when you do, and when we give your money back.

Cancelling
Open Billing and choose Manage or cancel subscription. That opens the billing portal run by Dodo Payments, where you cancel yourself. You do not need to email us and you do not need to give a reason.
However you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not cut your access off on the day you cancel.
The billing portal may offer to end the subscription immediately. That stops the next charge straight away, which is what it is for. It does not shorten what you bought — your plan still runs to the end of the current period on our side, and Billing shows you the date it ends.
Nothing renews after that. You are not charged again unless you start a new plan yourself.
What you keep after cancelling
Your account stays open on the Free plan. Nothing is deleted because you cancelled.
Clearance Packets you already exported stay in your account and stay downloadable. So do your determinations, your generated instruments and your signature records. The point of a clearance record is that it is still there in two years when an underwriter asks, and cancelling a subscription is not a reason to take that away.
What stops when the period ends:
- Generating new instruments
- Sending new signature requests
- Exporting new Clearance Packets
- Creating new productions, past the one the Free plan allows
Productions you already created stay readable, however many there are, with their determinations, citations and effective dates. The Free plan limits how many productions you can start, not how many you can open.
Refunds on a subscription
If you are within 14 days of your first payment on a subscription, email hello@synthworx.com and we refund it in full.
You do not have to justify it. Tell us the email address on the account and we will do the rest. We would rather hear why, because that is how the product gets better, but it is not a condition.
After 14 days, a monthly plan is not refunded for the part of the month you did not use. You cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and it stops. We do not pro-rate part-months in either direction.
Refunds on a Single Clearance Packet
A Single Clearance Packet is refunded in full any time before you export the packet.
The $149 purchase buys one packet export. Until you use it, there is nothing to argue about — email us and we refund it.
Once the packet is exported, it has been delivered. You have the PDF, its content hash and the signature record behind it, and none of that can be taken back. So an exported packet is not refundable as a matter of course. If the packet itself is wrong — a determination that does not match the facts you entered, a document that does not match what was signed — that is a different conversation and we want to have it. Email us.
How a refund reaches you
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and is the seller named on your receipt. Refunds go back through them, to the card or method you paid with. We cannot send it anywhere else.
We act on refund requests within two business days. How long it then takes to appear on your statement is up to your bank, and is usually a few days more. If it has been ten business days and you still cannot see it, email us and we will send you the processor reference to give your bank.
Before you raise a chargeback
Email us first. A chargeback takes weeks, freezes the account while it runs, and every outcome it can reach is one we would have given you faster. There is no case we would fight rather than refund.
If a renewal payment fails
A failed renewal is not a cancellation, but it does end the plan — a period that was not paid for was not bought. The account moves to Free and keeps everything already generated. Start the plan again from Billing whenever you are ready, and your projects, documents and signatures are where you left them.
Asking for a refund
Email hello@synthworx.com from the address on the account, or tell us what that address is. That is the whole process. There is no form.
